Dr. Deb Leach Ed.D, BCBA
Debra Leach is an Associate Professor of Special Education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She is also the Director of the Winthrop Think College program, a post-secondary program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her areas of specialization are autism spectrum disorders, applied behavior analysis, positive behavioral interventions and supports, differentiated instruction, and inclusion from birth to adulthood. She is the author of Bringing ABA into Your Inclusive Classroom and Bringing ABA to Home, School, and Play for Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Other Disabilities.

Description
This half-day training will focus on utilizing principles of applied behavior analysis to set goals for academic and behavioral intervention, develop interventions that incorporate the use of evidence-based practices, and employ easy-to-use data collection procedures to monitor student progress.

Course Outline
1. Understand the seven dimensions of applied behavior analysis and how they are applied to classroom-based interventions.
2. Learn how to set specific academic, social, communication, and behavioral goals for intervention purposes.
3. Learn how to use a variety of evidence-based practices to address academic, social, communication, and behavioral needs.
4. Learn how to develop step-by-step interventions to address targeted goals utilizing evidence-based practices.
5. Learn how to collect data to monitor student progress and make instructional decisions related to the targeted goals/interventions.
