Karen Kautz, Fountas & Pinnell Literacy

Karen Kautz is a Heinemann presenter who has extensive experience with LLI. As a teacher, she taught every grade K-6 except for 3rd grade. Throughout her educational career, she has served as a Reading Recovery teacher and teacher leader, a reading coach/interventionist, a reading specialist, and an adjunct professor at several NJ colleges. Through this training, teachers will become familiar with how to teach the Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) to struggling readers within our district.

 

Description

The Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention is a powerful, short-term intervention, that provides daily, intensive, small-group instruction, which supplements classroom literacy teaching. LLI turns struggling readers into successful readers with engaging leveled books and fast-paced, systematically designed lessons.
