Description
Oconee Academy CoP will focus on areas of best practices to meet the individual needs of all students. Specifically, outlined are goals for MS and HS departments individually, as well as, a one day review/refinement of the program. The last day will be the SC Alternative school conference in Columbia which is held during the first week of August.
Course Outline
The participant will:
1. Attend the SC Alternative School Workshop in Columbia
2. Review/Refinement program goals and initiatives
3. Create a master schedule that meets the Read to Succeed requirements, as well as, block scheduling to facilitate smooth transitions from OA to home HS
4. Work collaboratively to develop cross curricular project based learning experiences for all students
5. Incorporate the 1:1 technology initiative to facilitate a more student-centered approach in all core academic courses
