Differentiation of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessments

Target Audience: 5K through 6th grade teachers

Presenters: Drs. Catherine Brighton, Tonya Moon, and Kelly Hedrick from the University of Virginia

Drs. Catherine Brighton, Tonya Moon, and Kelly Hedrick from the University of Virginia will facilitate instruction on how to differentiate curriculum, instruction, and assessments based on five principles: learning environment, clear learning goals, ongoing assessment, flexible grouping, and respectful tasks. Participants will learn how to use a framework in order to develop differentiated units and lessons. Whole group instruction, small group instruction, and individualized team consults will be used to help participants develop plans that will be ready for implementation when students return to classrooms for the 2022-2023 school year. This workshop will build off of the content presented on March 19th (3 hour Saturday PD). Attending the March workshop is not a prerequisite for this workshop.
