Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Functions of Behavior
Target Audience: All teachers and paraprofessionals who serve students receiving ABA therapy
Presenter: Kara Griffin, MA, BCBA
Topics of discussion will include an introduction to ABA (basic principles, history, etc.), data collection methods, schedules of reinforcement, functions of behavior and effective methods to address each function, prompts/prompt fading, developing observable and measurable goals, motivating operations, reinforcement/punishment (including ways to increase desired behavior and decrease aberrant behaviors), errorless teaching, and functions of behavior. The training delivery will include discussion, role play, video modeling, and group activities.
