Thomas A. McKean has been working in the autism field for over 30 years.  Diagnosed in ‘79, he was one of the four original advocates who worked on creating autism awareness and spreading that awareness around the globe.  He co-created Autism Awareness Month and the puzzle piece awareness ribbon.  He has served on several advocacy boards and has appeared on Oprah, NPR, and various conferences.  Thomas has written two books, one of which (“Soon Will Come the Light”) took a literary achievement award.  He currently lives in Hilliard, OH, where he tinkers with amateur radio and writes for the Autism Digest magazine.
