Full course description
Abstract: Presenter will demonstrate culturally responsive, evidence-based instructional practices that benefit multilingual learners (MLs) and MLs with learning disabilities. Strategies for building vocabulary and background knowledge in the content areas as well as ways to promote active student engagement will be provided. Time for hands-on planning will be included.
Participant Outcomes:
- Participants will be able to identify instructional strategies that support vocabulary development and build background knowledge.
- Participants will be able to incorporate into content area lessons activities that provide more practice opportunities for ALL students.
- Participants will be able to access resources for helping them differentiate instruction for MLs and students with LD.
