Course Description
Students will be introduced to the pet and companion animal industry. Topics include: history of domestication, safety, pet ownership, animal rights and welfare, career opportunities, nutrition, and digestive systems. Techniques for pet care of a variety of speices including dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. Additional topics include handling animals, performing technical functions, learning business operations, career exploration, work ready skills and FFA leadership development.
