Course Description
Advanced Placement Statistics is equivalent to an introductory non-calculus college course in statistics. Students explore data, plan a statistical study, draw statistical inferences, and anticipate patterns using probability and simulations. This course is appropriate for students pursuing a degree in mathematics, engineering, psychology, sociology, health science or business. Students use graphing calculators and other technologies. Students must be able to explain mathematical concepts using written expression. Students are required to take the AP Statistics Examination from which placement and/or credit may be awarded at the college level if qualifying score is obtained.
