Course Description
Chemistry 1 students discover and work with the relationships fundamental to chemical reactions and the structure of matter. It provides the tools needed for the challenge of the rigorous chemical principles typical of college courses. Labs provide opportunities to master concepts and use problem-solving in real-world situations. Topics include dimensional analysis, writing/balancing equations, stoichiometric calculations, gas laws, atomic theory, the periodic system, chemical bonding, solutions and solubility, calorimetry, and acid-base chemistry.
