Course Description
U.S. Government is a ½ credit course that is required for graduation in South Carolina. The goal of this class is to teach students how to become positive citizens in our participatory democracy. As such, the course will cover basic principles of all governments in general and the workings of our federal system of government in particular. We will cover how the three branches of government work and the checks and balances that each exerts upon the others. We will also explore the proper role of the average citizen in this system, including a study of their rights and responsibilities therein.
