Course Description
This course will focus on the major developments in the U.S. from the settlement of North America to the present. The course fulfills the U.S. History requirement of the state of South Carolina for high school graduation. In this course, students will develop a command of the basic facts and continuing themes of the history of the United States. It is essential that the student be committed to working consistently and diligently to develop his/her factual understanding as well as analytical, interpretive, and writing skills. Methods for instruction in this class include class and small group discussions, examination of primary sources, lecture, critical reading, research, and presentations.
All students will take the SC End of Course Exam which determines 20% of their final grade.
