Course Description
Jazz Band is a performing ensemble that includes studies of the jazz styles, jazz history, and improvisation. Special emphasis will continue to be placed on strong performance skills, sight-reading, and interpretive skills. Other content includes instrumental form, music reading, basic music theory, and interpretative marking and nomenclature, found in jazz literature. Attendance at after-school rehearsals and performances is required.
