Target Audience: All teachers
Presenter: Bridget Briley, SDOC’s Lead School Psychologist
When student behavior impedes their learning or the learning of his/her peers, a functional behavioral assessment is needed to identify the baselines for target behaviors needing remediation, to determine the function of the unwanted behavior, and to ultimately improve outcomes for the student and his/her peers. Behavior intervention plans are useful to teachers as they identify personalized instructional strategies, replacement behaviors, and or accommodations that are needed to help students learn.
