Description

Teachers taking this online course will begin with a brief review of the latest expectations and information regarding ELA assessments and writing across the curriculum with a focus on Text-Dependent Analysis (TDAs). Since TDAs and the district writing curriculum encompass all subject areas, any teacher will benefit from this brief review. Teachers will then focus on the following objectives: understanding what an electronic or digital portfolio is in the school setting, learning the benefits of "paperless" student writing, learning different techniques for using electronic portfolios with their students (based on the teacher's level of comfort with Canvas and/or Google), examining sample ePorfolios, creating a practice ePortfolio, and planning for ways to integrate the use of electronic portfolios within their subject and/or grade level.
