Description
If students do not understand the words in a text, how can they comprehend the plot or the key points in a non-fiction article. Most textbooks/articles highlight discipline specific words and only give questions at the end to check comprehension without actually giving ideas on how to teach the vocabulary needed to comprehend the text.
This course will help you identify vocabulary that may be confusing to your students and give you ways to teach vocabulary skills. The strategies taught in this course can be used while reading picture books, articles, poetry, textbooks, chapters or novels, etc. These strategies can be used at all levels pre-k to high school.
